Sometimes program hang and not responding in Mac and you cant quit the program. Mac provide you a force quit program function. Only perform force quit function when program is totally not responding and not able to quit.
To force quit a program in Mac OS X, follow the steps below:-

- Press Command + Option + Escape together
- A “Force Quit Applications” window will pop up, select the application you wish to end and click “Force Quit” button
- Done, you just force quit a program
There is another way to force quit a program thru the Dock. Follow the steps below to force quit a program at the Dock:-
- Move you mouse to the program icon that you wan to force quit
- Hold your left click for 5 sec and it will pop up a menu, and select “Force Quit” from the menu
- Done. you just force quit a program thru the Dock
