How to disable unread email notification in window xp login screen?


Some people might feel that the unread email notification in win xp login screen irritating, so for those who do not like to show the unread email notification in window xp login screen, here is the solution.
Just follow the steps below and you can remove the unread email notification in login screen:-
- Click Start -> Run -> type regedit and enter
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ UnreadMail
- Double-click on the dword MessageExpiryDays in the right column and set the value to 0, then click OK. (Note: If MessageExpiryDays not exists, just create one and set the value to 0)
- Close your registry editor.
Your PC now should have the unread email notification turn off.
Important Note: This tutorial teach you how to modify the ms windows registry. Modifying the registry can cause serious problems to your computer. Make sure to back up the registry before you modify it. If problem happen you need to know how to restore the registry if a problem occurs. Use this tutorial at your own risk.

it didnt worked for me. there was no UNREADMAIL as given .

I do not have the UnreadMail folder, how do i creates this or where do i put the “MessageExpiryDays” DWord?
