How to disable Skype auto start in Mac?

I’ve just installed Skype for Mac. Since then, everytime i start my Mac, Skype will auto start. I hate application tat auto start without user permission. I’ve look for some way to disable Skype auto start feature.

To disable Skype auto start in Mac, follow the instruction below:-

Start your Skype
Right click at the Skype Icon at your Dock / Taskbar
Select “Open At Login” to uncheck the tick
Done, you have just disable Skype from auto start

Here’s the 2nd method to disable Skype auto start in Mac:-

Go to System Preference -> Accounts
Select your account at the left column
Click on “Login Items” tab
Highlight Skype and Click on the “-” button
Done, you have just disable Skype from auto start

Notes: Skype allow you to make Free Internet Call with other skype user. Besides, they also offer cheap international calls and sms.

How to remove http://www.virprotect.com/?aff=1012 malware

Recently my friend computer got infected by virprotect. Everytime he start his computer, IE will popup to http://www.virprotect.com/?aff=1012. Besides, everytime he start his IE it will load http://www.virprotect.com/?aff=1012 first. He can’t stand the popup and ask me for help to solve the problem.

After install the fake anti spyware program, you will see this balloon notification.

After i go thru his pc, i found that he just installed a new anti spyware program name AntiSpywareShield. I suspect this is a fake anti spyware program that install malware and trojan to your pc. After doing some research from here, i’ve prove that my statement is correct. AntiSpywareSheild is a fake anti spyware program. If you install it, your pc will be infected by trojan and malware.

To remove http://www.virprotect.com/?aff=1012 follow the steps below:-

Download SmitfraudFix.exe from here
Once download, double click on the file SmitfraudFix.exe and select 1 and enter

Wait until it finish it’s scan
After finish the scan, reboot your PC in Safe Mode

To reboot in safe mode, just restart your PC in normal way and keep press F8 while your PC start (b4 window xp load). A menu will pop up and you choose to boot in Safe Mode (without Networking)
Once Window XP loaded in Safe Mode then double click on SmitfraudFix.exe again.
Select 2 and press Enter to clean those infected files.
During the cleaning process, you will be prompt “Do you want to clean the registry ?” and select Y(Yes) and press Enter
You might be prompt 2nd time for “Replace infected file ?“, select Y (Yes) and press Enter again to restore the clean system file.
Once the cleaning process finished, just reboot your PC again in normal way.
Now the malware and trojan has already removed. Your IE wont show http://www.virprotect.com/?aff=1012 again!

WordPress WP-Cache with GZip Compression enable

What is WP-Cache?
WP-Cache is an extremely efficient WordPress page caching system to make your site much faster and responsive. It works by caching Worpress pages and storing them in a static file for serving future requests directly from the file rather than loading and compiling the whole PHP code and then building the page from the database. WP-Cache allows to serve hundred of times more pages per second, and to reduce the response time from several tenths of seconds to less than a millisecond. (From: WP-Cache homepage)

How to have WP-Cache with Gzip compression enable?
The default WP-Cache plugin do not support gzip compression. If you would like to turn on WP-Cache with gzip compression you need to do some hacking. Here are the steps:-

1st:
Download the latest version of WP-Cache

2nd:
Turn off gzip in the Options.

3rd:
Edit: wp-cache-phase1.php
Add this line:
if ( extension_loaded(’zlib’) ) ob_start(’ob_gzhandler’);

Before this:
foreach ($meta->headers as $header) {
header($header);

4th:
Edit: /wp-content/advanced-cache.php

Add:
if ( extension_loaded(’zlib’) ) ob_start(’ob_gzhandler’);

Before this:
foreach ($meta->headers as $header) {

That’s it! and now your site should be fast enough!

Many friends ask me how to download the Youtube video. Here is the solution to download youtube video:-

Before you can download Youtube Video please ensure that:
- you are using Firefox browser
- you have Greasemonkey extension install in your Firefox browser

Once your have Firefox and Greasemonkey installed, just one more last step and you can download Youtube Video:-
- restart your Firefox browser
- right click on the link below and choose “Install this user script”

- Once you see the script installed successfully message, you now can start download youtube video!

Just do a simple test to download youtube video, visit Download youtube video, a red color bar will be added to the top of the page. Just right click on the “Save As” to download Flash video” and click “Save link as”. Pop out window will prompt to download get_video.htm, just rename this get_video.htm to video_name.flv
That’s it, you just downloaded a youtube video!
