I&#8217;ve tried this PDF to Word Converter for Mac OS X, it works well for those text based pdf document. If the pdf contain images, it might not be able to extract out (i opened the doc file using openoffice). </p>

I just tried to clear my Thunderbird cache due to some privacy issue as it cache my email content on the public machine. To prevent Thunderbird from auto cache all your the IMAP email at your local machine, you need to disable the sync option for your IMAP account.</p>
<h3>To clear Thunderbird IMAP cache, follow the steps below:-</h3>

<li>Go to Tools -> Account Settings -> Select &#8220;Server Settings&#8221;</li>

<li>You will see all your installed application, now select the application you want to remove</li>
<li>The application detail page will show up with 2 button &#8211; Open and Uninstall. Select the &#8220;Uninstall&#8221; button and just Click &#8220;OK&#8221; button for the confirmation</li>
<li>Done, you just remove the application from your Android machine</li>

After some googling, i found some ways to install flash player in Ubuntu. <h3>To install flash player in Ubuntu, follow the steps below:-</h3>

<li>Start your Terminal</li>
<li>Now enter the command below:-
<pre>sudo apt-get remove flashplugin-* --purge </pre>
<p>This command is to remove all the previous version of flash player (it might be old flash player that doesn&#8217;t work anymore)

<li>Now install the latest flash player using the command below:-
<pre>sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree </pre>
<p>It will prompt you for confirmation to install additional package. Just enter &#8220;Y&#8221;

All of us is trying to enhance and increase the battery life for N900. After some testing, i manage to increase my N900 battery life. Just change few settings and u&#8217;ll be able to increase the N900 battery life. </p>
<h3>To enhance and increase the battery life for Nokia N900, follow the steps below:</h3>

<ul>
<li>Do not use Dual Network mode. Select only 3G or GSM mode. In Dual network mode your phone will keep scanning for the available the network. Constant scanning consume a lot of power.

Go to Settings -> Phone -> Network Mode
Select only 3G or GSM mode only
</pre>
</li>
<li>Disable Wifi Connection with Wifi Switcher when you do not use it. Wifi Connection consume a lot of battery. Disable it when you do not use it and it will save you lots of battery!

Go to App Manager -> Download -> All -> Wifi Switcher
</pre>
<p>To use Wifi Switcher after install, tab on the Battery icon and the Wifi Switcher will show in the drop down menu
</li>
<li>Disable unused Widget. Most widget perform periodic action (every 5 / 10 min) to fetch latest data and hence it cost power!</li>
<li>Disable Desktop View that you do not use.

- Click on anywhere on your desktop and Settings button will appear at the top right corner.
- Click on the Settings button -> Desktop Menu -> Manage View -> uncheck the view that you do not use
</pre>
</li>
<li>Do not use any monitoring tools (eg. Battery eye, Battery Graph, etc). These tools collect data (perform I/O read write that consume power) periodically (every few minutes) at the background. Uninstall it and u&#8217;ll notice a longer battery life!</li>

By default, Nokia N900 is set at Dual mode (auto detect 3G and GSM). If 3G is not available it will auto switch to GSM. But many believe that the constant scan for available connection (3G or GSM) will drain the battery life faster. So many recommend to use a single connection mode or disable 3G connection if you doesn&#8217;t use it.</p>
<h3>To turn off 3G in Nokia N900, follow the steps below:-</h3>

<ul>
<li>Go to &#8220;Settings&#8221; -> &#8220;Phone&#8221;</li>
<li>Scroll down and look for &#8220;Network Mode&#8221;</li>
<li>Change the &#8220;Network Mode&#8221; from &#8220;Dual&#8221; to GSM<br />
<small>If you just want to use 3G then you may set to 3G</small></li>
<li>Once choose, click on &#8220;Save&#8221; button and you are done!</li>
<li>If you choose GSM, then you will see number 2.5 showing beside the battery icon at the top indicator bar.</li>

If you want to transfer the contacts from old phone to N900, then you to do few more steps only. You need iSync to import your old phone contacts to Mac address book, then transfer the contacts from Mac address book to N900 using vCard format.</p>
<h3>To import contacts from Mac to Nokia N900, follow the steps below:-</h3>
<p><span id="more-1603"></span></p>
<ul>
<li>First, open your &#8220;Address Book&#8221;</li>
<li>Hightlight all the contacts that you want to export and click &#8220;File&#8221; -> &#8220;Export&#8221; -> &#8220;vCard&#8221; and save the vCard file at Desktop</li>
<li>Now trasfer the vCard file to your Nokia N900 thru Bluetooth</li>
<li>Once transferred, Open the File Manager from your Nokia N900 and look for the vCard file you just received and double click on it. Nokia N900 will prompt you for import the contacts, and you select &#8220;Yes&#8221;</li>
<li>Once the import finish, you should see all the contacts at your Nokia N900 Address book</li>
