I tried to download the flash player from Adobe website but it shows different version of linux package, and i really not sure how to install it (yes i know i’m a noob :p) Finally i found the most easiest way to install flash player in Ubuntu 10.4.

  • Start your Terminal
  • Now enter the command below:-
    sudo apt-get remove flashplugin-* --purge

This command is to remove all the previous version of flash player (it might be old flash player that doesn’t work anymore)

  • Now install the latest flash player using the command below:-

    Thanks, it works now.

When I clicked on download flash from youtube it sent me to adobe’s site. there were two options from there 1. .tar.gz for other linux and 2. .rpm for other linux. I downloaded each and tried youtube after installation to no avail.

I google searched “how to get flash to work for ubuntu” was directed to this site http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/236581-50-give-flash-work-ubuntu and followed the recommendation from linux_0, on second post but to no avail.

I clicked “system” on top of my desktop and then on the drop menu clicked “about ubuntu” to find out my version 10.04 LTS refined my seach to “how to get flash to work for ubuntu 10.04” was directed to hear http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=9884593 and follwed the instructions from second post, from lidex.

I cant remember what i put in the google search to find this site but i am thankful i did. P.S. i went to the terminal to update . thanks again. This site is bookmarked and i liked the easy instructions, i liked on facebook too.

Once you have installed this flash player in ubuntu, you will have to install the updates for this to work properly.

The command line is: sudo apt-get update

Then you will get all the updates and your computer’s will work properly, as did mine.
